 This only happens if the contact's email is invalid for some reason - incorrect format or even null - and you have it set to notify the contact.

Rare scenario but I've added a patch to prevent it from interrupting the flow of the application with basic exception handling: https://github.com/web2project/web2project/commit/5de3c47608ed43f308fb69906a66ef5f7f191342
